San Francisco: More architectural detail and colour. It was overcast when we tried to do the 51-Mile Drive from a microscopic tourist map. Me with seven layers of bifocals had the glasses off to read the map, on to find, read and relate the street signs; my husband patiently navigating the steep hills and the haphazard layout. The camera was literally in one hand, out the window, and our son probably the only person in the car who actuallys saw anything. But then again, he might have been focussed on that GameBoy toy. Nonetheless, as our weather greys towards winter, it's great to enjoy that beautiful city again.
